Building Up Children’s Confidence

[ 2017.12.06 ]
I have long been trying to find a way to make my child more confident to rise to challenges. A teacher at Etonkids told me that it is mostly a lack of self-efficacy and confidence that causes children to be too nervous to act naturally in front of an audience. To improve their public performance, parents should start by improving their confidence. Now, I encourage my child to do some simple chores at home and praise his effort if he does a good job. For example, I say, “You cleaned up your toy cupboard! Excellent!” This provides him a sense of accomplishment, and then gradually he will grow more confident and develop a positive self-perception.
